It has now been one month since I began my position as Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) at Avamore Capital. Coming from a mainstream bank I was excited by the prospect of working for an innovative and open minded Principal Lender and I was right to be!

I have originated £33.4m of debt in my first 4 weeks, averaging over 26 enquires. The average tickets size has been c£1.3m, and I would like to continue looking at the £1m + deals as I move into the coming months.

In my first 3 days I attended the “Bridging & Commercial awards 2017”. The ceremony consisted of key industry companies and individuals who had been shortlisted to win one of the industry’s most prestigious awards. If there had ever been any doubt on Avamore Capitals’s standing within the industry it was extinguished that night with Avamore winning their category for “Best Newcomer Bridging Lender”!! This was a very proud moment for the principals, which recognised the hard work and innovative approach adopted by the team. Between sipping champagne and celebrating, I managed to speak with numerous Brokers and Introducers who I have since met and discussed potential deals with.

Another significant event, which I was in attendance for was the “NACFB Expo in Birmingham”, with Avamore taking a prime stand. This enabled me to speak to a variety of people about our offering and how Avamore stand out from the crowd. Following the Expo numerous terms have been issued to potential clients and I continue to look forward to progressing these further.

As a SBDM I have been focused on making new relationships with brokers and introducers, “relationships” being the keyword, and something at the heart of Avamore’s unique approach. I did not want to just cold call and blast out mail shots. I have spent the last four weeks, connecting to the relevant individuals and building symbiotic relationships. I have attended numerous networking events, including the PIN event, this was extremely interesting and relevant, I shall be attending again. I travelled across London and the surrounding areas to meet potential new clients, existing clients and Introducers, being out on the road is part of the job description. All this effort is currently paying off.

All in all it has been a great first month. I have had many opportunities to capitalise on and I am delighted at the approach Avamore take with identifying these. I look forward to the continuous speed of contributing to Avamore’s growth, in addition to adding my own approach to the industry and Avamore’s stance within it.
